Many of us deal with the challenge of unwanted hair, the recurrence of the issue can be distressing and finding a permanent solution is very appealing. Permanent laser hair reduction is the answer we have today.
What Is the Laser Hair Removal Process?
Laser Hair Removal uses a low-energy laser to gently destroy hair follicles, putting an end to routine shaving and waxing. This advanced technology transcends the older painful hair removal treatments to deliver long-lasting results. Because the laser treats more than one hair at a time, it is possible to treat larger areas such as the back, shoulders, arms, legs and face.
We use a gentle three-step process. We cleanse, and if necessary, shave the area to be treated. The area is then scanned with the laser. The laser energy passes through the skin and is absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicle. In a fraction of a second, all of the treated hair follicles are disabled. Over the ensuing days the hair shafts will start to fall out. Laser treatments leave your skin looking and feeling smoother and silkier. Best of all, Laser Hair Removal treatments are a safe, fast, gentle, and effective method for hair removal.
What Are the Benefits of Hair Removal?
- Because it is a comfortable treatment, larger areas may be treated using lasers rather than electrolysis, waxing or tweezing.
- It combines the speed of shaving and delivers the lasting results promised by electrolysis.
- Laser Hair Removal is effective on almost any area of the body where smoother, younger, hair-free skin is desired.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
The number of treatments required for optimal long-term benefits depends on the area treated, the hair density and its growth cycle. Hair grows in cycles and many factors influence its growth. Age, ethnicity, weight, hormones, diet, medication and metabolism all play a part in hairs’ location, thickness and resilience.
The laser destroys the capacity of follicles in the growth cycle at the time of treatment. Since some hair follicles may enter their growth cycle after the treatment, multiple sessions may be required to treat all the follicles present and deliver optimal results.
How Do I Prepare For Laser Hair Removal?
You must stop tweezing or waxing your hair for several weeks prior to laser hair removal. Sun avoidance and sun protection will reduce risk of dyschromia.
What Should I Expect During the Treatment?
Our Laser is essentially painless for most patients. For some the sensation is often described as a "warm pinch" or the "snapping" felt by a rubber band. The sensation lasts for fraction of a second, and you may feel warmth or a tingling sensation for a short time afterward.
What Happens After Each Treatment?
The area is cleansed after treatment. Temporary coloration in the skin recedes quickly and you can immediately return to your normal activities. Your physician may recommend that you use a specially formulated skin care product line or prescribe a skin care regime especially formulated for your skin type after laser treatments.
The use of sun screen is recommended on any treated areas exposed to the sun.
Is the Laser Hair Removal Procedure Safe?
Attention to medical history, skin type, skin quality, laser setting and proper training with individual attention to results ensure a safe procedure. We gradually increase the energy delivered to find the best setting for a specific area for each individual patient.
Note: Removing hair does not make it grow back thicker, darker or quicker. The opposite is usually the case. The laser may cause the partially treated hair to come back more slowly and to be thinner.
